This is the CREAM (Cosmic Ray Energetics And Mass) site of the University of Chicago. The Chicago group provided a TRD system for the first CREAM payload which flew in 2004-2005 around Antarctica. The objective of this experiment is to measure the elemental composition of cosmic rays to very high energies.
